Sinds een paar dagen is Dubai gehuld in een dichte mist. Het is fijn zandstof afkomstig van zandstormen in Irak en Saudi Arabie die met de wind momenteel over de Golfstaten wordt verspreid. Het zicht in Dubai is beperkt tot 1500 m.
Enkele weken geleden beleefden we temperaturen tot 45 C, 's morgens om 9 uur was het al 30 C of meer. De temperatuur daalde daarna weer tot 34-36 C maar het 'koele' weer lijkt nu toch echt voorbij te zijn. In de Gulf News werden gisteren o.m. de volgende weersveranderingen voorspeld:
"The usual June condition will sweep through the emirates, pushing the mercury up to 45 degree Celsius. "We are expecting a gradual increase in temperatures in the next 48 hours, with chances of some low clouds near the mountains and eastern parts of the country in the afternoon," said the NCMS weatherman. Humidity is also expected to increase in the evening and night, creating uneasiness for the people living in coastal areas."

Desalniettemin zijn we vanmiddag samen met Rosalie, Rommie en Derk in het Jumeirah Beach Park gaan spelen. In de schaduw was het prima te doen, wel veel water drinken. Met verhitte maar tevreden hoofdjes weer de auto in. Temperatuur om 18 uur: 32 C, de berichtgeving over de luchtvochtigheid varieert van 66% tot meer dan 80%. De enigszins krokante lange vingers kon je na anderhalf uur buiten bijna ombuigen....
